In Case of Outages

If your electricity goes out, check your fuses or circuit breakers. If they are okay, take a moment to check if your neighbors’ homes or nearby streetlights are also without power. To report an outage, call 800-696-6552.

During severe weather, a power outage could be widespread and prolonged. The telephone lines may be extremely busy during major outages and you may be routed to our automated answering system. There is no need to call again unless your neighbors’ lights come back on and your service has not been restored.

If the outage affects a large number of members, the cooperative will contact radio stations with updates to report of the situation and progress. Listen to KIX-101 FM for the available outage updates.

Please remember that all downed power lines should be considered “energized” and dangerous. Stay away from them and contact Consumers Energy immediately.
