What is the Consumers Energy Scholarship Program?
The Consumers Energy Scholarship Program is designed to encourage and recognize the achievements of the children of our members.
This recognition is in the form of scholarships to assist with their college
education.
How much is the scholarship?
The Consumers Energy Scholarship Program awards two $500 scholarships
to children of our members. The scholarship must be used for educational
costs, and the student must enter college in the fall of the school
year for which the scholarship is given. Checks will be made payable
to the school, and will be distributed by our office.
Who is eligible to receive the scholarship?
Dependent children of cooperative members are eligible. The applicant
must be a student who is enrolled or planning to enroll in
a full-time graduate or undergraduate course of study at an
accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical
school.
How are the recipients selected?
Awards are based on the following criteria: grade-point average, work
experience, participation in school and community activities,
a statement by the student explaining his/her educational and
carerer goals, and a written recommendation by a third party.
