Rick Whalen of Consumers Energy Named Marshall County Coordinator for the 2002 All-Iowa Home-Based Business Conference

Rick Whalen of Consumers Energy in Marshalltown, Iowa has been named the Marshall County Coordinator for the 2002 All-Iowa Home-Based Business Conference.

The All-Iowa Home-Based Business Conference County Coordinator serves as a liaison between conference organizers and participants in each county. Whalen will distribute event information, answer local questions associated with the conference, assist area business owners in getting registered, and help attendees get the most out of this exciting event.

"Home-based businesses are vital to future business growth and economic development in Iowa," said Cheryl Eftink, Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration office in Des Moines. "We're pleased and excited to have people like Rick involved at the local level to help home-based businesses throughout the state take advantage of the opportunities this conference will provide."

The All-Iowa Home-Based Business Conference will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2002 at the Iowa Historical Building in Des Moines. This day-long event is being hosted by the Iowa Enterprise Network (IEN) - Iowa's association for microenterprise and home-based business - and the Department of Cultural Affairs (CDA) in cooperation with The Des Moines Register, Prairieinet, and other private and public organizations.

Registration for the March 9th event is $50 for IEN members and $75 for non-IEN members ($25 of a non-IEN registration fee can be applied to IEN membership.) for more information, contact Rick Whalen at 641-425-4905.
