Consumers Energy: Welcomes New Employees
 Jacob
Kvinlaug joined the Consumers Energy team on February 3, 2003, as
an Account Executive working with residential and developer members
and customers. Jacob comes to the Cooperative after having owned
his own construction company for the past 23 years. He has designed
approximately 120 houses and has built them primarily around the
Marshall County area. Jacob has served as a past instructor at Marshalltown
Community College and in the Iowa Valley Community College District
in their Carpentry Apprentice Program and numerous other classes
in building construction, passive solar design, earth sheltered
housing and residential energy efficiency. Jacob has been a consultant
to the City of Marshalltown on housing matters, has completed an
energy auditing program from the Iowa Energy Policy Council and
has taught classes on energy efficiency for the Council. “I’m
looking forward to the challenge of helping to develop new markets
and new services for our coop in order for it to grow,” stated
Kvinlaug.
 Jarrod
Ulery began employment with Consumers Energy on February 3, 2002,
as a Field Service Technician. Jarrod has a diverse background.
He has owned a small electrical contracting business the past few
years and has also been employed by the Iowa Quality Beef Network
in Tama as a supervisor over their electrician crew. He has also
worked in similar capacities at Trans Global Rail in Marshalltown,
Scheid Construction in Montour, and Carl’s Electric in Garwin.
Jarrod has attended DMACC and has received his journeyman electrician’s
license. “I’m very excited to get started in this field,”
expressed Ulery when asked about his new position.
