Consumers Energy's 65th Annual Meeting
SEPT, 3 2003, MARSHALLTOWN — Consumers Energy will hold its 65th
Annual Meeting on September 4, 2003, at Gates Memorial Hall in Nevada. The
business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., and will be preceded with a meal
that begins at 5:00 p.m.
Brian Heithoff, CEO/General Manager of Consumers Energy stated, “As
a member-owned cooperative, members of Consumers Energy are invited
to attend the Annual Meeting, with the main order of business being
to elect candidates to the Board of Directors.”
Open seats this year are in District 1, which includes Marshall
and Tama Counties, with Eugene Goodman of Melbourne and Steven
Salasek of Marshalltown squaring off against each other; District
2, which includes Story County, has Mark Atwood of Collins against
Robert Collins of Colo, who is seeking re-election; and the District
At Large seat, which is District 5, has David Knight of Alleman
running against Janice Paper of State Center, who is also seeking
re-election.
In addition to the election, President Robert Collins, CEO/General
Manager Brian Heithoff and Daniel Lee Dadisman, Secretary–Treasurer,
will be giving reports on the operations of the cooperative.
Guest speaker for the meeting is Karley Stineman of Laurel, Iowa,
2003 Youth Tour Finalist at Consumers Energy. Karley will report
on her trip to Washington, D.C. where she spent a week with several
other participants exploring our nation’s historic sites
and seeing our government in action.
