Consumers Energy's 65th Post Annual Meeting Update
SEPT, 8 2003, MARSHALLTOWN — Consumers Energy held its 65th Annual
Meeting on September 4, 2003, at Gates Memorial Hall in Nevada.
Over 400 members and guests of the cooperative attended the business meeting.
Elected to three-year terms were Robert Collins of Colo, Janice
Paper of State Center, and Steven Salasek of Marshalltown.
Robert Collins, President of the Board of Directors, presided
over the meeting, which included reports from Daniel Lee Dadisman,
Secretary-Treasurer, on the financial status of the cooperative.
Brian D. Heithoff, CEO/General Manager of Consumers Energy, began
by sharing his thoughts about the cooperative’s rich and
glorious history and provided insight to what lies ahead in Consumers
Energy’s future. “Our vision for the future and mission
is different than in the past when we simply defined our purpose
as being to deliver reliable and affordable power. We will still
do that…and at the same time, we will be doubling down on
our roots by transitioning the cooperative to providing a higher
level of value by helping our members…and even non-members…on
a whole host of energy needs. Who else other than your trusted…and
locally-owned cooperative? Collectively, working in a spirit of
cooperation, we can do it. I have confidence in us, in this organization,
in the Board, and in our membership’s support,” stated
Heithoff during the meeting.
