Pre-Annual Meeting

AUG, 24 2004, MARSHALLTOWN — Consumers Energy will hold its 66th Annual Meeting on September 2, 2004, at the Marshalltown Senior High School in Marshalltown. The business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium, and will be preceded with a meal that begins at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Brian Heithoff, CEO/General Manager of Consumers Energy stated, "As a member-owned cooperative, members of Consumers Energy are invited to attend the Annual Meeting, with the main order of business being to elect candidates to the Board of Directors."

Open seats this year are in District 1, which includes Marshall and Tama Counties, with Gilbert Berrey of Albion, who is seeking re-election, and Jay P. Merryman of Marshalltown squaring off against each other; District 2, which includes Story County, has Mark Atwood of Collins against Daniel L. Dadisman of Nevada, who is seeking re-election; and District 4, with Don Buell of Elkhart running against Randy A. Sorenson of Elkhart, who is also seeking re-election.

In addition to the election, President Mark Tinnermeier, CEO/General Manager Brian Heithoff and Daniel L. Dadisman, Secretary–Treasurer, will be giving reports on the operations of the cooperative.

Guest speaker for the meeting is Deandrea Lappin of Newton, Iowa, 2004 Youth Tour Finalist at Consumers Energy. Deandrea will report on her trip to Washington, D.C. where she spent a week with several other participants exploring our nation’s historic sites and seeing our government in action.
