Consumers Energy Cooperative to Hold Grand Opening
June 25, 2004, Marshalltown, IA – Consumers Energy will hold its
Grand Opening on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at its new facility located
at the intersection of highways 30 & 330 from 3:00 to 7:00
p.m. The Grand Opening will begin with a Ribbon Cutting and Time
Capsule Ceremony at 3:00 p.m., a meal being served from 4:30 to
6:30 p.m., and a short program beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Consumers Energy's new facility is located where Midland
Transportation previously held its operations. The cooperative
bought the facility in 2003 and has incorporated many energy efficient
technologies throughout. In the near future, the building will
be powered by renewable energy systems, wind and solar.
Consumers Energy is a local, member-owned energy solutions cooperative
that specializes in energy delivery and energy management. The
Marshalltown cooperative serves nearly 5,000 members and customers
throughout five counties in central Iowa; Marshall, Story, Jasper,
Polk and Tama.
