The Consumers TouchScreen kiosk was designed to educate members about the benefits of energy conservation through the use of system animation; real time wind turbine and weather data; and money savings calculators that allow users to calculate the cost savings of installing compact fluorescent lights, geothermal systems and individual time of use pricing. In early 2007 this kiosk was awarded the “Official Adobe® Site of the Day” and has also received an “Award of Excellence” in the Best Website category in the 2007 “Spotlight on Excellence” national awards program, sponsored by the Council of Rural Electric Communicators and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
