Over Voltage Protection

The Shocking Truth
After it is determined that your ground system is adequate, the
best way to keep out intruding surges are to build an invisible
over-voltage protection fence around your home. Typically, surges
can enter your home at three points. They can travel in through
your power lines, TV cable/antenna line or telephone line. Each
of these entry points presents a gate on the over-voltage protection
fence. To provide protection for home appliances and electronics
you must lock each point of entry. Leaving any of the gates open
leaves your hard earned possessions vulnearable to damage.
The
HomeGuard Defender System goes right to the heart of your system...the
main electrical service ground and the power lines coming into
your home. A representative from Consumers Energy will make certain
your home is grounded properly and install an over-voltage protection
device at the main electric service entrance to prevent most power
disturbances from entering your home. You as a homeowner, now have
the ability to limit your exposure to these kinds of risks, and
increase the safety and reliability of your appliances and electronic
equipment with this premium electric distribution service.
