If you are interested in receiving electric or natural gas utility
service from Consumers Energy, look no further. Now Consumers Energy
makes it easier than ever to get connected!
If you would like to establish a new account with Consumers Energy,
print out the membership application form below for either Electrical
or Natural Gas Service and mail it to our Customer Service Department.
Once your application is received, a Customer Service Representative
will contact you for any additional information and to confirm your
request.
Membership
Application 
When applying for utility service a security deposit may be charged.
Our standard deposit is based on the highest bill from the last
member's 12 months of usage and is due within 30 days of service
activation. After you have completed 12 consecutive months of payments
with no more than one late payment, your deposit will be credited
back to your account.
Deposits may be waived by providing one of the following items:
- A letter of credit from your previous electric utility for
your previous 12 months of service.
- By having previously received utility service from Consumers
Energy and maintained a timely payment record.
